The Global Implant Masters: a shift in doctrine toward modern implantology

LYRA ETK is a global Medtech company specialized in dental restoration, seamlessly integrating clinical implantology with advanced digital technologies to deliver innovative, cutting-edge solutions. LYRA ETK’s choice is to promote a more biologically driven, less invasive and fully digital approach to implantology, based on simple, safe and accessible solutions. Bernard Daymon, company CEO, announces a symposium, 27-28 of May 2027 in Cannes, France that will bring together leading international experts to examine the evolving foundations of modern implantology.

Modern implantology must move beyond osseointegration toward bio-emulation and digital technologies.

Osseointegration is no longer enough.

For decades, implant dentistry has been built on the assumption that integration equals success. Hence, a historical approach of the industry rooted in the view of implants as tooth root substitutes, fueling prolific innovation centered on implant shapes, surfaces and materials. Yet clinical reality tells a different story: stable integration does not guarantee long-term tissue stability, nor does it prevent biological or esthetic complications.

The truth is that the paradigm of osseointegration is incomplete.

This symposium will challenge the foundations of implant dentistry by shifting the focus from integration to bio-emulation and digital technologies where implant therapy is no longer designed to simply anchor in bone, but to replicate and sustain the dynamic equilibrium of natural tissues. Structured around three inseparable pillars, namely bone, mucosa and digital technology, the program will explore how each must be reconsidered, not in isolation, but as part of a unified biological approach.

Bone preservation and soft tissue management will be examined not as mere technical steps but as critical determinants of long-term success, demanding new strategies, innovative standards and deeper biological understanding. Digital technologies, often reduced to tools of efficiency, will be reframed as essential instruments for controlling variability, enhancing precision and enabling truly biology-driven protocols.

This is not an incremental evolution. It is a shift in doctrine. Importantly, many of the required biological and digital innovations are already available and validated for clinical adoption.

By bringing together leading scientific evidence and clinical expertise supported by real examples of innovation and technologies, this symposium aims to challenge assumptions, provoke debate, and accelerate the emergence of a new standard of implantology where success is defined not by integration alone, but by the ability to achieve and sustain true bio-emulation of peri-implant tissues over time as the way to generate implant success.
