Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As Christmas and the Holiday Season approach, my term as President of the Digital Dentistry Society (DDS) for the 2024–2025 biennium comes to an end.
I would like, once again, to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for contributing to the growth of this extraordinary and innovative organization, which today stands as one of the most important and internationally recognized Scientific Societies in the global field of Dentistry.
“DDS today stands as one of the most important and internationally recognized Scientific Societies in the global field of Dentistry.”
The recent success of the Global Congress in Venice—welcoming 1,000 enthusiastic participants from 75 countries worldwide, featuring an exceptionally innovative and engaging scientific program, and complemented by a rich exhibition with over 30 companies—magnificently concluded a two-year period during which I, together with my Board and all our Ambassadors, achieved significant milestones through daily commitment, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication.
DDS now counts over 30% more active members than in 2023, continuing a steady growth trajectory since its foundation in 2015, and is currently represented in more than 65 countries worldwide. This achievement is the result of the extraordinary coordination work of the Board and the tireless on-the-ground efforts of our Ambassadors, who are constantly active in organizing conferences and courses across multiple countries. Thanks to them, the Society is present with more than 15 in-person events each year. No other scientific society in the world is as active across so many different countries.
Our editorial activity continues to thrive with great success through three journals positioned at different levels: The Journal of Dentistry, with an Impact Factor of 5.5 and now the seventh most influential dental scientific journal worldwide; the newly launched Digital Dentistry Journal, soon to be indexed in PubMed after only one year of publication; and DDS MAG, offering high-quality case reports, interviews, product presentations, and news from the DDS world.
Our e-learning platform continues to expand, offering hundreds of hours of top-level educational content.
The marketing team continues its outstanding work, guided by our Managers.
The quality certification project, developed through the DDS Quality Forum, now extends beyond partner products to include centers of excellence in Digital Dental Clinics worldwide.
We have established cooperation agreements with major scientific societies worldwide, including the Indian Dental Association and DGAZ.
DDS has also carried forward important humanitarian projects in various contexts around the world.
All of this has been made possible thanks to the dedication of our Past Presidents, Board Members, Ambassadors, and above all, our Active Members worldwide.
It has been an honor and a privilege to represent you.
INNOVATION and PASSION define these two years.
Let us continue together under the Presidency of Professor Reinhilde Jacobs (2026–2027).
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
All the best
